Project Desription

The Motueka Marina was New Zealand's first marina to be fully constructed in a modular plastic pontoon system.

Total Floating Systems and Total Floating Systems, who are the agents for Superior Jetties in New Zealand, were commissioned by the Motueka Boat Club to provide a turn key solution.

Total Floating Systems deployed the re-locatable Kaimahi (Sectional Piling Barge) and Kapai (Pusher Tug) from Auckland to Motueka.

Construction of the marina commenced in 2008 and the first 40 berths for Pier A was completed within 4 weeks. The marina obtained consent to increase the total number of berths to 87 and this has yet to be realised.

The modular plastic pontoon system is ideally suited to the sheltered environment and the snap lock fitting system makes assembly straight forward and efficient.
